California vs. Paris: The Lands of The Future - Part One Hugh Allison Senior Columnist |
|
This month and next, I shall be comparing the Lands of The Future found in the two Disneyland parks closest to my heart (California and Paris). In California, as per Florida, Tokyo and Hong Kong, this land is called Tomorrowland; in Paris this is called Discoveryland. The main lift in California is relatively slow, with a few screens either side to look at. In Paris this section is much faster. You are supposedly being catapulted out of a cannon [The Columbiad] and into space. This portion of the attraction is covered from the elements, but is visible to those outside, which adds to the kinetics of the land.
Hugh is a former Cast Member, who now lives in London where he works as a director. He is in the process of writing a "Mouse Tales" style book about Disneyland Resort Paris, for Bonaventure Press.

I was looking at DLDHistory one day and realizing the huge amount of content that we have that no other site has. The problem is trying to sort through all of it and put together a nice time line of the History of Disneyland. I also watched most of the Disneyland Historical DVD's available, official and unofficial. None of the DVD's seem to have the complete history of Disneyland including backstage photos and information about deaths and injuries rare video clips etc. This project has taken over 3 years to compile. We have created a full length Disneyland History DVD. The DVD is a 10 disc set covering the full history of Disneyland. The discs are available individually or as a box set. The DVD's will contain all attraction openings, parades, deaths, injuries, trivia, backstage photos and lots more. To my knowledge no DVD has ever been created with this type of content. Our Gold members receive a large discount. We will be offering free previews for each disc. Disc previews are available to all of our members beginning September 1. The previews are low resolution copies.
Click Here for up to the minute information available on our DVD Blog Page The table of contents of the DVD's are:
One very unique feature that will be available on our DVD is a quick way to access additional information on DLDHistory.com about an attraction. The final DVD will be a high definition video. *After September 1 DVD Previews are available to our ALL of our Members.* | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Superstar Limo
The most unique and strangest attraction that has ever been at the Disneyland Resort was probably Superstar Limo. I rode it one time, and like most people I never rode it again. Superstar Limo was located in Disney's California Adventure where Monsters Inc Mike And Sully to the Rescue is now. This month we present a complete ride through of Superstar Limo. Superstar Limo
Enjoy! |
