The Wonderful World Of Flubber
GUEST COLUMNIST: Steven Orsinelli

Hello fellow Disney Chums, I just got back from my last trip to the Disneyland, when I say last, I mean last ( for a long while) .Yes, I am not renewing my preferred pass to the park for at least a couple of years. I know I might go through some withdrawals along the way, but this time I think I can handle it. I know I have written about my feeling on this before, but I am kind of getting burned out on the crowds and myself doing the same old things that I have done a million times.  This does not mean I don’t love the park or the Disney Legacy, I just know I need a change when I am talking to myself saying “what am I doing here” I have just rode Peter Pan for the 1500th time!...

Disneyland History DVD

New Feature: Upload Your Favorite Photos

I was looking at DLDHistory one day and realizing the huge amount of content that we have that no other site has.

The problem is trying to sort through all of it and put together a nice time line of the History of Disneyland. I also watched most of the Disneyland Historical DVD's available, official and unofficial. None of the DVD's seem to have the complete history of Disneyland including backstage photos and information about deaths and injuries rare video clips etc.

We are working on creating a full length Disneyland History DVD. The DVD will be a 5-6 hour video covering the full history of Disneyland. Including all attraction openings, parades, deaths, injuries, trivia, backstage photos and lots more. To my knowledge no DVD has ever been created with this type of content.

We are now offering previews as we put together the DVD. The previews are low resolution working copies. The voice over has not been added yet. We will add background music and a few more edits. We will add more chapters as they are completed.
The table of contents of the DVD will be:

Chapter I-Title
Chapter II-Before Disneyland Includes rare video clips from Coney Island and Pacific Ocean Park
Chapter III 1955-1959 1950's Disneyland
Opening Day
Adventureland
Fantasyland
Frontierland
Holidayland
Main Street USA
Tomorrowland
Parades
Chapter IV 1960-1969 1960's Disneyland

New Orleans Square
Tomorrowland
Parades
Deaths & Inuries
Chapter V 1970-1979 1970's Disneyland
Bear Country

Deaths & Inuries
Chapter VI 1980-1989 1980's Disneyland

Chapter VII 1990-1999 1990's Disneyland

Chapter IX The Future
Chapter X Credits
Chapter XI Extras

One very unique feature that will be available on our DVD is a quick way to access additional information on DLDHistory.com about an attraction. The final DVD will be a high definition video. We are predicting that the DVD should be complete before the end of 2010.

DLDHistory.com History

Marvelous Mechanized Magic

DLDHistory.com Through The Years

In August 1997 I created a site called RLMSoft.com using my initials. The site was mostly a vanity site but it had a small section about Disneyland. That section continued to grow and in 2001 we split the site in two: RLMSoft.com continued to be a vanity site (for about 6 months then was shutdown due to lack of interest) and ThrillMountain.com which became a site dedicated to Disneyland. In 2003 through a mistake on my part I lost the name. Hence the birth of DLDHistory.com using the initials of DisneyLanD History. In 2004 through overwelming requests we started a small section dedicated to Disney's California Adventure. Also in 2004-2005 we presented daily photos from the park as the park got ready for the 50th celebration. In 13 years the site has grown from a few backstage photos to thousands of onstage and backstage photos (more than  ANY other site on the internet), hundreds of videos and thousands of articles. And now you can upload your favorite Disneyland Photos to your My Page and share them. The future? We are working on the Disneyland History DVD. We hope that it will be The Most Unique Disneyland History DVD that has ever been created. We are always looking for people that have unique viewpoints of Disneyland to add to our team. We are looking into digitizing all of our Disneyland Attraction Videos. This can be a long slow process but we think having a HD copy for future visitors to watch will be worth it. All this growth and future plans are all due to our wonderful members! Thank you very much for your donations. Our 15th anniversary is just around the corner :)
