Disneyland annual pass-holders witnessed a special 20th anniversary, after-hours performance of Fantasmic! on Monday.

The multimedia show began with a four-minute prologue showing planning and preparation for the attraction and its premiere in May, 1992.

The event took place at 11:30 p.m., after the park was closed to all but pass-holders who had picked up tickets in advance to attend.

Even though the event was exclusive, pass-holders began to camp on the cobblestones in front of the stage hours before the performance. Primo space was gone by 9 p.m.

When the park closed at 10 p.m., technicians turned Disney Channel disco tunes and appropriate lighting. The mix only lasted an hour. Then it started over again.

Three more Fantasmic! anniversary events remain for pass-holders with RVSPs: Tuesday, May 15; Monday, May 21; and Tuesday, May 22.

Registration closed on May 10, but people who visit the park on those dates can purchase theme foods at 14 restaurants in New Orleans Square, Frontierland and Adventureland, near where Fantasmic! is performed on the Rivers of America.

Choices range from popcorn in souvenir buckets at popcorn stands to seafood and pasta at the Blue Bayou, where reservations will be hard to come by. Monday evening, the reception area at popular sit-down restaurant resembled the crowd scenes in the last hour of James Cameron's "Titanic."

Here are some of the more interesting choices:

Berry brownie and chocolate skewers at Bengal Barbeque.

Chili Cheese corn dogs at the Stage Door Café.

A reprise of Bacon Mac-n-Cheese Dogs from Disneyland's Leap Year celebration, at the Harbor Gallery.

French dip, popcorn shrimp basket, apple yam salad and specialty cupcakes at the French Market.

Shrimp and pineapple pasta and two-layer vanilla panna cotta with fresh berries at the Café Orleans.

If you miss out, there is more Fantasmic! fun on the way.

July 6, "D23 Presents Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives" opens at Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library. Last week, Disney transported the original dragon head from Fantasmic! To Simi Valley for the exhibit.
